The Story Behind Form & Line

Form & Line was founded by Jessie, a fashion designer, pattern cutter, digital fashion specialist and educator with more than a decade of experience across fashion, digital product development and education.

Jessie's career has spanned traditional fashion design and pattern cutting alongside digital garment development, 3D fashion and education.

That combination is at the heart of Form & Line.

We take the knowledge, precision and problem-solving of professional fashion development and translate it into sewing patterns that are approachable, useful and enjoyable to make.

Our patterns are developed with careful consideration for proportion, construction and fit, while clear instructions and useful resources are designed to support you throughout the making process.

That's why fit sits at the centre of everything we do.

We develop our patterns with a considered size range and real bodies in mind, recognising that people aren't made from standard measurements.

We're also exploring how digital technology can make fitting more personal — including tools that allow makers to work with their own measurements and develop a better understanding of how a pattern relates to their individual body.
